Changed the fuel and the fuel filter. What else should I try?? Gonna swap out the pcm tonite see if that's it. Anything else you all think I should try? Im Gonna go get a soundclip.

Is that coming from the engine?

Do you have an auto tranny? Maybe that is something beating on the flexplate inspection cover. Might also be the timing chain flogging the oil pan.

Does it sound to you like it is spinning abnormally fast? Have you taken off a valve cover to verify all the rockers are moving when you engage the starter?

 

Those are pops coming outta the exhaust pipes.Im gonna pull the covers sunday and check it out.

 

Are those open headers or something? Could be a dying opti.

 

he replaced the opti a few months ago.. well. if I remebeer right just the cap and rotor kit. He said he has spark so the opti is intact. he also said he is getting fuel but I wanted him to run a pressure test. I also wanted him to chek for injector pulse so we could go from there. come on corey.. you can do it, I know you can

 

I have the complete new opti not the kit.

 

did you just replace the opti spark? sound like your firing order or ignition timing is off. compression sound ok if its poping you should have fuel.

Did you check injector pulse and hot feed yet?

 

Test light on the negitive and probe the green wire. I think thats how i recall doing it last time. Refresh my memory.

 

test light hooked to ground. turn key to on just before start should have hot on the pink wires.


testlight on hot, car cranking while looking for flashing ground on green wire.

All the rockers are good. Fuel Pressure is good. Injector pulse is good.

Shoebox got any idears?
