Fuel delivery problem

Alright, this is driving me nuts!

Fuel pressure at the reg is 45psi with the key on, which should be ok. Mechanic checked the injectors to see if they are firing and they are. Spark is fine, it runs with a shot of starting fluid and dies promptly. What can be my problem???? I swapped the motor into my truck from a 94 lt1, the computer has been reflashed to a 95 computer with a 4l60e. What can be my fuel problem?

when you get it running on the starting fluid what is the fuel pressure when its running?Sounds like its not getting fuel. Did you check the inj. with a noid light?

We havent checked psi when running because we dont wanna keep it running with starting fluid so we dont lock it up. Tested it with a noid light and it lit up in crank. How are the injectors wired? Is one wire a pulse from pcm and one wire a 12v from the fuse box? Would the noid light still work if there is no power getting to the injectors in the crank position? I think I may have wired them into a circuit that is not hot in crank, only in run. BUT would the noid light still light up only from the pulse signal?

If the noid light is flashing the inj. should be getting the volts to squirt. I would check fuel pressure when cranking and if possiable try spraying some fuel into it if you dont want the starting fluid. I know what you are talking about with the strating fluid but for the minumim time you will have it running it wont hurt it. You just want to make sure it is getting the pressure when running. What fuel pump are you using?Check the grounds good to my 91 did the samething and it was the ground on the back of the head.

I will trace all the grounds out tomorrow, to make sure they are good. I used one down on the block and one on the coil bracket for the others. I am using a stock replacement 96 vortec 5.7l fuel pump (it has under 2000 miles on it). They are good for 55-60 psi. This was a transplant into my 96 gmc 1500 that is driving me nuts at the moment!
