Fuel boiling in tank...

Fuel boiling in tank...
I just took my 95 T/A LT1 6-Speed out for a drive today...its been sitting since late December...after driving about 30-40 miles I shut it down I could smell fuel. I traced the smell to the filler neck of the gas tank. I thought maybe the gasket on the fuel cap was bad so when I took the cap off a big VROOSH of pressure came out of the tank. Now my gauge is reading about 1/2 a tank which I know is closer to 1/4 and I know theres usually a puff of pressure when its low but this was way more than normal. And after I took the cap off I could hear the fuel in the tank boiling!! Oddly enough the car ran just fine like it always does and never much past the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge. I just have no idea where/what to check for proper venting! I tried searching for anyone else having this problem but didn't find anything.
Thanks
Dan

Could be a sign that your fuel pump is going out, and overheating the fuel.
You might also want check the pressure control valve that dumps the fuel tank vapor to the EVAP canister, and the canister itself:
