Frying SPark plug wires

My Lt's melt 3rd spark plug wire on the passenger side, if i put a longer wire to that plug to get around the Tube will it negatively affect anything?
what are some good wires to buy?

Re: Frying SPark plug wires

I burned through 2 sets of MSD wires before I finally bought some OVC wires from Elitesparkplugs.com and have had no problems since

Taylor firesleeves....... they go over the wires and will withstand the heat of laying right against the header.

Get some OVC plug wires with good looms and you will not have any further problems.

I remember having that problem with the stock wires and LTs as well. I used several zip ties to secure the wire away from the header as a temporary fix until my OTVC wires and looms came in the mail. I drove it like that for two weeks without any problems. I'm not sure how it would work out in the long run as it was simply a temporary fix. I would definitely recommend the OTVC wires and looms, it will secure your wires better from the headers and it looks very sharp as well when you pop the hood.
