Front-End Alignment Question
Front-End Alignment Question
Hey I brought my car in today to be aligned after I did the LS1 Brake Upgrade. When I did the upgrade, I also had to change a tie-rod because it had gotten loose. Anyway, consequently, my two front tires have worn some near the edges, so they're not the best rain tires.
When I dropped it off today, they said something about needing new tires to do the alignment properly. They were pretty pushy on selling me two new tires, even after I had said that I have mine on order (...ehhh just not yet). So a different mechanic gave me a call when he was about to do my car, and said that I really should get the new tires, because they won't be able to tell if it will pull this that the other thing..etc. The middle of the tires aren't worn, mind you, just the edges.
Anyway..what I'm getting at is is this a load of crap (like my dad is trying to tell me it is) or do they really have to have perfect tires to align a car?
