Free Scan Log with new tune car randomly shut off?
Free Scan Log with new tune car randomly shut off?
I just installed my pcmforless tune with tunercat this morning on my fresh cam package. Without the tune the car stumbled a couple of times and stalled, but i figured it was just the tune. After I put the tune on this morning I drove it and it felt awsome. Then I came to a light for a couple of minutes and it stumbled and died again. I went back out with freescan this time and logged a sample of the whole drive. It never died, so im thinking the computer was in open loop or something still with the fresh tune. This log looks like a different language to me. I'm posting the log up for anyone that has time to take a glance just to see if everything seems normal. I re-checked all the grounds and took a glance to see if i could see any arching and it all looked ok. Just wanna make sure everything is good to go for friday so i can take it to the track.. thanks in advance

Your BLM's are pretty high in some cells and reach 150+ at one point. This is a lean issue and would hurt performance. You need to drive the car for a day or two before you can use these datalogs and make exact sence of them. Your also getting knock retard meaning the computer is retarding the timing so the engine does not get damaged.
Be careful. It may be a "false" lean condition, resulting in the PCM elevating the BLM's and adding fuel the engine doesn't need. That might explain why it ran good on the intial startup, before the PCM started elevating the BLM's. Does it smell like its running rich? Might be worth pulling at least one plug on each side to see if there is any sign of carbon deposits.
I would have opened the file, but it looks like you have to sign up for some kind of Premium or Basic service on that site before you can download?

yea i guess let me try to find a different site to host it, or i can send it directly to you via e-mail. The car was running fantastic without the tune and even better with it, except for the occasional stall. It definetly smelt like it was running real rich before because i could smell raw gas, plus it kind of bogged down before the tune when i would take off from a stop. Also in low rpm, under 2500rpm, cruising it kind of jolts and puts (if thats a word). But tonight the thing wouldnt stop stalling and sputtering so I'm thinking this sputtering staling etc is probably something else. I have a loud clicking coming from the drivers side valve cover that i'm going to investigate tomorrow..
i uploaded the file on a different site where you dont need to do anything to open it

Ok so the noise was the rocker and I tightened it and started it up and ran fine.. And then I got down the street and it just stalled so I'm guessing that oil leak got to the opti and burnt it out, just got it towed back and gonna pull it apart tomorrow
No shut off during the datalog. How much did you tighten the valves? I hope you adjusted them all the right way and didn't torque them down to tight. I doubt the opti would have died right at that point because of a little oil leak. It might be bad but don't jump to that conclusion just yet.
The car never died during the freescan, of course when im recording it. I adjusted the rockers according to shoebox's directions and comp cams directions which was half a turn past zero lash with the engine off and going off the TDC diagram to make sure they were closed. I went over all of the rockers and they were fine. Unfortunately the oil leak wasn't small within about 50 miles of driving it leaked out almost a quart of oil all over the opti and the balencer flung it all over everything else as well. I thought it was coming from the crank hub at first and tried retightening it and changed the oil. Then i realized the opti cover was covered in oil and out of stupidty i drove it to school still instead of tearing it down. Sunday I'll have time to tear it down a little and try to rule out this issue. I'm thinking its the ignition system so i'm gonna use the sticky and go over it all and see what i come up with.
