LT1 Top End noises and misses

I have a 95 Z28 and it's always had a rattle when it starts up then goes away. Well tonight i was headed somewhere and my car picked up a miss, i stopped and it has a noise on the drivers side. I don't really know if it is a bad lifter or a bent push rod. I don't really know anything about the internals of these. Do these have roller rockers and cam or what all do these have. How much work is involved in removing the intake on an lt1. I'm planning on taking the valve cover off tomorrow and having a look at the problem but i just wanted to get a few answers til then. Thanks Guys....Mike

Yes. I would pop off the valve cover and take a look. The drivers side is pretty easy and the passenger needs the alternator moved on mine. I would remove the drivers side and check that first.

hold a screwdriver to the valve cover with your ear pressed against the handle, this will help centralize the noise
