fouled plugs=low rpm missfire under load

well, still tracking that low end miss i had after replacing the optispark....

wires=good
coil / icm good
connections etc. good
new DELCO opti
gas=good
?02's...they are at least 5 or 6 years old BOSCH from autozone...

pulled off the passenger side plugs (only took 2 hours with mac midlength headers)!! they look nasty kinda, ends were all browned...and smelled like GAS

so here's my theory, when my old opti was dying, i was trying to start the car, like cranking cranking till the battery died,.,,, so i think that i fouled out the plugs?!?! and thats whats causing my missfire down lo, upper rpms ok cuz the spark is just coming on faster?>!

does this seem plausible to anyone....or am i just smoking anti seize again!?

guess we'll find out after i get the drivers side on and fire her up ....
if this dont do it, im movingon to the o2 sensors.....
wish me luck...again!!

Its a question of which came first..... the misfire or the fouled plugs? A misfire causes the entire bank of the engine to run rich, so it just makes the plugs worse. Your explanantion is possible. I don't think that a fouled plug will perform better at higher RPM, "cuz the spark is just coming on faster". Generally, the more load the engine is under, the more likely its going to misfire with an ignition problem.

First off I would never recommend Bosch anything on the LT1. For some odd reason they just don't go well together. Secondly, do you have a way to live scan? It could be a myriad of things but I have seen it time and time again where a faulty temp sensor is the culprit as it builds up scale overtime and gives a false reading causing the pcm to engage and adjust accordingly.

I'm still waiting on whether or not changing my O2's (probably never been changed on the car) will cure my problem, similar to yours, but I'm going to go ahead and recommend to change those O2's because they are 5 or 6 years old (they should have been replaced by now anyhow), and you are using a brand that is recommended against. Factory parts seem to work best in many, but not all cases of the LT1. GMpartsdirect, rockauto.com, or other local dealerships are the only places that seem to have AC Delco or Delphi O2's. You can try your parts store anyhow, some may have them in different areas. I'll post back in a few days when I get my sensors in and have driven it to see if it cures the problem.

I have downloaded data scan or whatever but I can get the program to work when I plug in the wire from the ADL. My computer won't recognize it or something.
I will replace the plugs and see what happens.

UPDATE:
put on the drivers side plugs...40 minutes thank you very much...(as well as the drivers side from 3 days ago!)
and the car STILL has a stumble in the lower rpms...... a little smoother as it should be with NEW plugs...but WTF???!?! granted the plugs looked horrible when i pulled them out. all brown on the ends, the #5 plug was all nasty...and smelled totally like gas.

anyways...i think i will go ahead and replace the o2 sensors....and then after that...i have no idea....its almost as if the opti./..which is new...is bad....its a brand new delco unit....but...when i was installing it onto the car..i dropped it once. it only fell about what 16 inches or so..and landed on a rag / carpet i had under the car...could this have jostled the sensor inside?!? and caused it to read bad...then why would she be good on the top end...

other wise...i may also go ahead and try a new IM and coil....just to be sure everything is NEW and good.

any ideas throw them at me...no really...literally throw me a freakin bone here?!?!? thanks for lettin me vent!?
