forgot to install the reluctor onto my crank.
forgot to install the reluctor onto my crank.
I have a 96 z28 which obviously has the different hub than the 93-95 model. Well I installed everything along with my 96 hub and pulley and forgot to put the stupid reluctor in. Do I absolutely need this or can I just get pcmforless or someone to just program the reluctor(crank position sensor) out of the computer. Also would I have to have the 93-95 hub in order to do this? Thanks for any help.
Re: forgot to install the reluctor onto my crank.
Did you by chance put in a double roller chain? If so you don't need the ring. My buddy put in his double roller on his 97 and just left off the ring.

Someone said you can have a spacer made up? I found it easier to get the hub from Jason Cromer.
You need to remove the reluctor for the CPS, and have it programmed out or switch to OBDI

Re: forgot to install the reluctor onto my crank.
I made a spacer out of aluminum to fit inside the hub so it wouldnt rub against the gear. You guys think .067" would actually make that much of a difference to where the pulleys dont line up?
