Forged 355 short block,want 500hp

I have the cc306 and very similar heads to le2,s.
The short block is all forged with srp 2618 flat tops, it was built for nitrous but i want more HP nat.asp. are there any known head, cam and intake combo's or anyone have suggestions, maybe sollid roller ,mechanical, not too concerned about streetability but I do like driving on the street but if I have to choose I WANNA GO FAST

It's always budget and time v. desire. Budget is also highly dependent on what you can do yourself. How much do you plan to spend and how much can you do yourself?

Just a couple of thoughts - assuming this is a pump fuel setup, that is going to impact CR. Since you already have the shortblock, making adjustments here is going to limited. The cam choice and the CR are intertwined. I suspect your final static CR is going to be about 11:1 or a bit less. You will need an intake closing point of ~70ABDC. This will be an influence on cam choice.

What your top end and valve train needs is good airflow at medium to high engine speeds. The stock LT1 manufold is going to be a major limitation. I would recommend looking into a highly modified intake with an enlarged plenum, like the one Bret Bauer was doing a while back or going ahead and converting to a Gen I style intake. Again, without a budget and knowing what you can DIY it's hard to be too specific. But another area to look at is the exhaust system. A true dual conversion will be a big help.

rich answered your question pretty good alreay but I'll try and help.
First since the shortblock is already built your going to be limited as mentioned, 2nd the cc306 is a old cam and there are better choices, maybe a solid roller. 3rd your heads are good but you may need more airflow. 4th the lt1 intake sucks so if you budget allows there are better choices .

Huge solid cam, lots of spray should do it.

526 SS 96 made 48x to the wheels with a 355 solid roller so getting close to 500rwhp is definatly possible with a well thought out combo.
