flywheel or no?

hey im a brand new member and a new owner of a 96 formula, it has 68 thou miles and i need a clutch, i got the clutch, i havent beaten on the car and ive gone through it and driven it for 2 thousand miles, no signs of abuse, think i would need a flywheel or should it be good? im not goin to build the car too much so i am just wondering, if so what should a factory flywheel cost?

ALWAYS either replace or have the flywheel resurfaced before putting on a brand new clutch. Too many people make this mistake and when the clutch starts slipping they blame the clutch manufacturer. You want the clutch disk to have as much contact surface as possible with the flywheel and be able to form its own pattern characteristics with the flywheel surface. When a flywheel is not new or resurfaced it contains groves which gives up a lot of surface for the clutch to grab onto. Eventually the clutch will start to slip.
You are supposed to change or resurface your brake drums/rotos when installing shoes/pads. The same thing applies for a clutch.
