flushing engine after head install?

What would be the best way to get rid of any foreign debris that might have fallen into the lifter valley after a head install?

ttt I would like to know also!

I think this is the reason why people are told to change their oil after 20 minutes.

I kinda figured to do a oil change soon after, but would it help to pour oil into the engine and just let it drain out as i'm pouring it? then fill it up and change the oil 20 or so minutes later, then 100 miles change again etc.?

well, I spray a clean shop rag w/brake parts cleaner and wipe it down, then I'll spray the brake cleaner in the crevices to rinse down the rest. be careful not to rinse down the oil/assemb. lube off the cam lobes. then rinse down w/fresh oil. after all that, fill w/clean oil and change soon after startup. I leave the orig. filter in there for initial startup just for this reason. then change oil /filter. same w/inside the valve cover area. everything gets a fresh coat of oil after adj. the valves.
