The FLP's are nice, but a real pain to get on. I've had them on for about 2 years now. The shop that I had them installed at had to make small adjustments to the y-pipe on the driverside to get it to fit right, and as a result, it hangs down a little bit lower than it's supposed to...at least it looks that way. My car is already lowered and with that pipe hanging down, it bottoms out sometimes...if you look under the car you can see the dings in the pipe. Definately go with some thermal sleeving for the wires, and keep those metal OEM caps for the end of the plugs, because one of my wires got melted twice. Also, after a little less than a year after I had them installed, the gaskets ripped. You could see peices of them sticking out a bit, I replaced them with Felpro gaskets and they work great. Performace wise they are great, and sound awsome too. Even with the problems that I've had with them, I still don't regret buying them.

For performance, I love them. I went from 14.2 to a 13.5 and from 98 mph to 104 so a gain of .7 and 6 mph. Not bad.

My complaints.
1.) Coating sucks *****. Mine is rusting on the collectors and even at a couple primaries to the flange. How that happens is beyond me.
2.) V clamp bolts are too short.
3.) Plug clearance blows.
4.) One of my v clamps broke, one of the parts that attach to the clamp band came off and everytime i put it on i have to make sure it is adjusted so it doesnt fall off while I tighten it.
5.) driver side bangs floorboard.
6.) Y- pipe needs to be pryed into place and is also only 2 3/4 not 3"
7.) leaks alot

Pros
1.) ground clearance is awesome.
2.) good gains.
3.) emmissions
4.) sounds good.

The FLP system is the best header kit out there for our cars. Dont listen to all the negative feedback...My headers went in with minimal fuss. The biggest PITA was having to cut 2 inches from my borla I-Pipe to get the y-pipe to fit properly. Havent had any issues with pipes banging the floorboard, bad clamps, bad coating, etc. I say go for it if youve got the $$

No kidding, the Y-pipe is not a big deal either, you just have to put the passenger side bolted up first then move to the driver's. Also, its a bit of a PITA in the beginning but once you have it on thats it, if you ever take it back off its easy as hell to put it back on because the hot exhaust takes away it's springback tendensy & its just set. Floorboard banging? Easy fix, get Polyurethane motor mounts & problem is gone without padding or anything.

hmmm, i don't have them on my car, but my cousins car had them when he bought it. He has to run a smaller filter to clear them. Thats what people are talking about when they mention the stock oil cooler issue. I guess i feel they should be straight up and mention that every place they sell them so there aren't any 'installation day surprises'. Thats my only gripe. Might do them with my next motor because my car is lowered.

Thanks a lot for all the feedback guys.
After much consideration I've decided to go with TPiS Longtubes. When I finally saw some good pics of them I noticed a superior design feature people are not aware of.Instead of using header bolts the TPiS Headers have 2 inch long pieces of pipe welded to the flanges. This elegantly allows the use of standard 3" long 3/8" bolts. All the bolts are super easy accessable with a regular wrench even in our cramped spaces. There won't be any problems with leaks.
I'm gonna get them uncoated so I can weld in the AIR and EGR fittings for emissions then get them done here by a local guy who did some smog shorties for my truck.Random Tech makes a dual cat ypipe for the TPiS's so I'm set there.
