FLP Long Tubes

Where can I get some FLP long tubes and are they emissions compliant? Do they work with the A.I.R. crap on a 97 T/A also?

Thunder Racing sells FLP's. Jet Hot also sells LT's with emission tubes. Some states have laws against moving your cats, so you may pass the emissions test but fail a visual inspection. Maybe someone from IL can chime in here to give you more specific info for your state.

Go for the FLP long tubes from thunder racing (in vendor index) they come with all the necissary components to pass emissions and all you have to do about the cat problem is put the new on in the same spot as the old one... if you pass the actual emissions test it's not likely they will fail you on the vizual inspection.. I'm buying them myself soon and I was told from someone else who had it that all they did was take a mirror and looked under for the cat... and since it was in almost the exact same possision as the other.. they passed him. I'll look for my old post on it now for you..

I passed inspection with my FLP's, all they did was look under the car with a mirror to make sure there were cats. I've got emissions testing coming up in a couple of months, but I'm not worried.

If you get the headers specifially for 96-97, the A.I.R. connections will fit fine.

i live in illinois and i don't have emission testing, although i believe some places here do. also, i was told that the flp's would give a little more power than the hooker lt's. if they don't, why are they so much more? are they of better quality? or you just paying for the name?

They cost more becuase the come fully coated, both the headers and the ypipe. Plus they come with both high flow cats and offroad pipes that are interchangeable. It's not the quality if you ask me, I've had too many problems with them to say their a quality header. They make about the same horsepower as Hooker LT's, but if anything they should make less power since the y-pipe is only 2.5".
