flowmaster true duals
flowmaster true duals
hey guys. i was just wondering from YOUR experiences, how hard is it to build a true dual system? I would like to use this exhaust

so, correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldnt i just run anpther tube along with another CAT conv. into 1 j bend to an X pipe??

The picture is a catback with a cross-flow single-in/dual out muffler. You can't turn that into "true duals". A J-bend into an X-pipe? Then what comes out of the X-pipe, and how does it get over the axle, with each bank of the engine having its own intermediate pipe and muffler?
Perhaps you don't have a solid understanding of what a true dual system is. The system you listed is a cat-back which uses a y-pipe to merge the exhaust manifolds/headers into one pipe which is then split through a single in/dual out muffler. A true dual system is something like this:

...whereas each bank has it's own tubing, usually joined by an x-pipe to bullet mufflers which either dump before the rear axle, or go all the way back.

lol, there are no CATS in that picture, neither of them I suspect. If you did use catalytic converters they would go directly after the headers on each side. Most people running duals go without cats if they can get away with it. Depends on your local vehicle inspection rules, or at least your relationship with the guy that is doing the inspection. You can order all the piping you need from summit or jegs. Other places too.
