Flowmaster < Hooker!!!! Just changed exhausts!!!

I just changed my Old Frowmaster 80 series 3” Cat-back to Hooker Cat back. And I honestly have to say that I love the hooker much better. I used to be flowmaster fan…I had Mangaflow, Borla and Random Technology on My 95 Z28 and now I had this Flowmaster Dual 3” and today changed to Hooker…So I have some experience in catbacks…
If you want to have the sickest sound (near NASCAR at WOT), Random Technology have to be your weapon of choice. There is no sickest sound than this. If you want over all deep sound and no resonance in the car Hooker is the best!!!! Flowamster was too loud inside and okay outside. But now I am much happier with hooker. The interior resonance is minimal, sound is awesome. And outside sound is just perfect...Deep and rumble… And the best part is that it costs only $259 shipped to your doors (www.jegs.com)!!!! I ordered some 3” piping and cutout/ I will put cut out the cat place and install DMH e-cutout…This sound should be similar too open headers!!!! And enough to scare living hell out of some Ricer crap Hondas
I will post some sound clips next week…
Hooker’s are the best!!!!

I swithed from the blowmaster to the hooker about 3 weeks ago. I really like the hooker. NO interior resonance but a nice deep sound outside.

So you actually like the Hooker better than the Magnaflow catback system? If so, what are the differences?

I'm about to get rid of my Flowmaster system also. I'm debating the magnaflow vs hooker. I'm leaning towards the magnaflow though due to it being all stainless.

I didn’t like Mangaflow sound. And borla had the worst sound from them all....I just like nice deep toned sound. The best Catback that I heard on f-body is GMMG, but it is 3xmore expensive than hooker...and hookers is almost as good as GMMG....

I was running open headers for a while on my 95 Z28 and Random Tech with MAC midheaders and OFP was even more sick at WOT...Just ask other people with this catback and they will tell you ...The SLP Loudmouth with LT sounds like cutout (too loud), but Random Tech is not that lund but it SCREAMS!!!! like no other (sick, sick, sick sound). Believe you me; you don’t want to hear that sound at WOT on the highway!!!

Also note: What your hearing is NOT what your sound will sounds like after a month. It will sound a lot less hollow, and will get much louder. The hooker wakes up a lot with time

yeah, defnitely wakes up, had mine up about a year or so. well, 1.5 years. =)

does get louder and deepr, and doesnt rasp anymore, just gets deeper.

one thing, the tips, lol, they will start to rust. lol. so drill a few holes in the tips, so water pours out and no rust

mine was nice and quiet with my LTs and no cats...... for about a day. Now it seems to get louder by the minute. It is still not that bad inside but outside it is alot louder.

If the loudness is annoying to you, you might check out the Dynatech Vertex cone inserts available through jeg's. Stick one in the exhaust pipe before the muffler and that should quiet things down some. I'm probably going to use one when I fab up my 3.5" single in/out hooker aerochamber in a couple months
