flakey power window...

my passenger side window is a somewhat temperamental. when fully up, the right switch does not always work. then if it does, it will retract a few inches and stop. then i can use the left switch (witch didn't work at first) as normal. i did a search on windows as was not surprised to see that GM's window motors are weak and often require replacement. but these cases were for slow or zero movement. i do have some control; it is just a little random. i am wondering if the problem may be with a bad switch or connection. or possibly a bad control module or regulator. are these common problems too? how to proceed? thanks.

Try replacing the switches first, but I bet it's the motor. Sounds kinda like what my 3.4 did a long time ago =\

I'm with Ibanez on that one. It sounds an awful lot like a bad motor though. Mine will go up 1 or 2 inches then stop, then I'll wait a few minutes and I'll get another 1 or 2 inches. If yours does something like mine--I'd say you need to head to Autozone because your motor is shot. But--it's always best to start with the cheap/simple stuff first.

The switches are not very expensive and are easy to replace.
