Fixing intake manifold leak

I am getting ready to fix my intake manifold leak for the first time are there any mods that I should look into doing while the manifold is off.

Rocker arms, valve springs, throttle body bypass.

Essentially nothing is exposed by only taking the intake manifold off. You could get it cleaned and ported.

sounds like alot of work, plus you really dont even need to have the intake off to change those..

New lifters are the only thing I would say because you have to pull the intake to get to them. No performance gained with just them, but cheap insurance if your have high mileage and you foresee rockers and springs being upgraded in the near future.

True, but an extra couple minutes to pop off the valve covers and there they are.

yeah, but then you have to take the springs off, but you have to take the spark plug out too and get that air compression thing so the valve doesnt drop and then after you do that 16 times, you have to set your valves. Alot more work then just popping an intake manifold off and putting it back on.

I had planned rocker arms in the future and I wanted to know if they would be easier to do now. The main thing I need to fix is the intake leak, is their a good "how to" for this anywhere besides www.projecttransam.com

Read the section on removing the intake manifold (courtesy of Shoebox):

...and several more hours changing rockers and springs. Easy way to turn a few-hour job into a weekend.
