Fixed Vacuum Leak, now engine loses power?

I finally got my head under the hood and found the vacuum leak causing the "lean" SES codes on both banks. After replacing the burnt vacuum hose, I noticed that the car doesn't have the acceleration it used to.

I do know, from reading, that when the PCM throws a P0171 and/or P0174 code, it will also richen the A/F ratio to compensate. I wonder though, if at WOT, the PCM still tries to still compensate or simply enter the fuel enrichment stage and bypass all that other stuff.

I don't know if it's my imagination, but it sure does feel like it's lost some get-up-and go. I wonder if I need to move to larger flow injectors, say 32 lbs, instead of the stock 24.

The PCM will always try to fix the problem and after a while of trying to "fix" it. The PCM will just think it is correct so it will run that way give it a little while and see what it does.

Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery for about 10 minutes; this will reset the PCM and clear your error codes.

Larger injectors won't help a stock engine.

Don't disconnect the battery, unless you are sure you know the security code for the radio (if you have the theft-lok engaged). Its easier to just pull the "PCM BAT" fuse, when the key is in the "off" position. 30 seconds will be enough.

Thanks for the tips guys...I'll post the results, wish me luck. I have a aftermarket radio so security codes are not a problem. I will still just pull the PCM fuse since I don't want to have to restore all my radio settings.

The vacuum hose that went from under the Throttle Body front to the driver side intake. According to the Chilton's manual, it's the driver's side PCV line. The hose was practically "burnt" or eaten up somehow about 3 inches from the intake side. I did hear a loud hissing noise, but I thought it was part of taking the donkey dong off. Fixed the hose, and now the intake is actually pretty silent!
