Fittment of 4" mufflex.

Will a 4” mufflex fit over the panhard brace without hitting, what needs to be done besides taking out the heat shield. I’m in the process of an install right now and just trial fitting the system, this pipe (over axle) is a very tight fit.
thanks

My 4" Mufflex was installed by Mufflex, in their shop. The IM pipe essentially "wedges" into the space availble between nthe panhard rod brace and the body. It is in there so tight that is can't rattle. I don't remember them having to remove any heat shield, and I watched the entire install.

I've got this on two cars and in both cases left the heat shield intact. On one car the thing fit like a glove. No rattles at all. On the other I have a very slight rattle that I need to fix but it's nothing too bad.

I was able to get it over the axle without touching anything, but it was a close fit... the over axle pipe had only 1/4" of clearance in 3 places (panhard brace, tank, and the frame). The heat shield had to be removed in my case, but it might be different from car to car... I wrapped the section of pipe that ran next to the tank with exhaust wrap, which hopefully does an adequate job. Anyway, the process took a couple of hours and was a PITA - in fact, I welded up my own hangers out of 3/8" steel rod, since the mufflex hangers didn't give me the fit I wanted.
