first time at the track

today was the first time i took my z28 to the track up in sacramento raceway, my best run was a 14.3 @ 100.5mph does that look right or should i be pushing high 13's? i was on street tires not the best but they were daytona tires i picked up from a used tire shop for 50 bucks for the set running them at 22psi also on my last run after comming back to pick up my time slip my ses light came on... any ideas what that could be?

You need to scan it to see what turned on the SES light.

What was your 60-ft time? I suspect it was well over 2.0 seconds. The 100 MPH indicates the car has sufficient HP to run high 13's. The 14.3-sec ET indicates the vehicle did not fully utilize the available HP.

My 60ft was 2.5 couldnt get it to stop spinning... I found out what the ses light was for, it wasa blown air pump fuse... Any tips on launching?

you should be able to drop the 60 foot time with some practice. When mine was stock if I remember correct my best was high 1.8. I didnt try launching with high rpms nor flooring it quickly. I was quickest by slightly ******* it to not break traction and give it as much gas as I could without breaking tires loose. Minimum wheel spin will get your best times. My drag radials didnt hardly help over my street tires either but I didnt drop the pressure lower than 20. Practice not letting tires spin excessive. Takes a little control not to mash it to the floor or to lightly back out of it but the faster they spin the less they grip.

Re: first time at the track

The 2.5 60 foot is whats hurting the et. MPH is good. Get the 60 ft down to 2.0-2.1 which is still not great but will get you into the 13's.
