fired "new" motor and now a MASSIVE oil leak

ok since im NOT using an oil/fuel pressure switch i plugged the hole on the block deck directly behind the intake on the drivers side...ok i started it and shes leakin oil like a sive...go back under there and notice a hole in the block right above the oil filter assmebly...ok so i plug that one.. and i still have a friggin oil leak...

when im layin under the car and i look up on the drivers side head i can see oil all over the side of the head..right at the rear most outer head bolt...i know i got them all tight so WTF is this oil coming from?...i cant really tell were its coming from because the whole driver side of the block is wet...its not a heavy leak...but its heavy enough..and it weird because it doesnt drop right down..it drips and runs down the bell housing and around the tranny...

I would start with the easiest place, check your valve covers. Make sure the gasket didn't drop out of place or something when trying to pop the cover on. Should only take you a few minutes to take it off. If that vavle cover gasket looks good, then I would also guess intake. Best way to find out is to take a clean rag and clean clean clean. Try to get every last drop of oil from the area. Then fire the engine for a min. or so and then shut it down. Take a look and see if you can tell where its coming from. If its leaking really fast, then maybe clean it, fire it up and then watch and see if you can tell where its coming from.

Use an inspection mirror and look at that plug where the sensor was. You should have used some sealant on the threads (teflon tape or paste). Use some brake cleaner or such to clean it off so you can tell where the leak originates.

i put some teflon tape on the bolt i used to plug the hole on the deck,, but it was still oozing out...so i gooped some permatex on there and it doesnt leak THERE anymore...

i tightend the valve covers and that seemed to help a little, but thats probly in my imagination...ill look at the rear of the intake today...im guessing i didnt put enough sealant where the intake gaskets meet the deck surface..right at the corners of it

lol, as soon as i saw this thread i though of that plug by the oil filter i have seen that done before. I would look to the valve cover that is about the only place it can be coming from unless the oil splashed up from not having the plug in. The head bolts would leak coolant not oil if they aren't sealed good enough.

teflon tape is abad idea, teflon is oil based and will wash away, try permatex #2 for a sealer on oil system.
