firebird putters around right hand turn
firebird putters around right hand turn
When ever I make a right hand turn whether it be on the highway or in the city, my 94 firebird starts to putter. Sometimes almost to the point to where it is going to stall out. And after the first right hand turn, it will also putter on a straight away. Any suggestions on what can be wrong?

Re: firebird putters around right hand turn
I had the very same problem in another car. Not an F body but the problem was very similar. Only difference was that in my case the problem would come up when turning left. I installed a fuel pressure gauge and drove it. the fuel pressure would fall close to 15 psi and then rise again. I then checked the electric supply to the pump during the low pressure event thinking that it might be a wiring issue and it was not. I then had my son driving while I listened to the pump with a stetoscope during the pressure drop and the pump kept running all the time.
It turned out being the fuel pump suction strainer being clogged. It would hold a bubble of air and when you turned left the pump would cavitate for a short while and then pick up pressure again. the problem would be more evident when the fuel level was low.
