Finished my 224/230 Cam install.
OK well after a few day on jack stands I finally finished the install. I changed the header gaskets too (pain in the ***!) but all in all it took me about 4 to 5 days, alone and VERY careful.
So my reactions are as follows:
Remember I have the stock tune still!
It idles very rough, with the cutout open you can hear this thing has a cam from 2 blocks away, seriously.
It drives a little rough also especially below 2500 RPM. I hope the tune will fix this.
I haven't been able to really see if I made any improvements but it revs a whole lot quicker after it passes 2500 rpm. I mean a whole lot quicker, before you realize it it is bouncing of the limiter.
Anyway to all those who did a 224/230, did it make a difference in driveability after the tune?
Thanks.
ps just ordered a tune from madz28.
