Finally pulled Opti. WOW and it only ran a month
I replaced my Opti Spark at the end of September with a reman unit from Autozone. After one month the car quit starting. I changed everything else before deciding to check the Opti (It couldn't be bad.....it was NEW.) After reading several posts on here I checked the wiring harness to the Opti and found corrosion in the pigtail from the wiring harness to the distributor and when I finally got the Opti off every cylinder pin showed signs of corrosion and the rotor button end was completely covered....I recommend that if you need an Opti, change the harness end also. It's only 40 bucks from Casper Electronics and I believe the harness was responsible for the corrosion all through the system.
Just a question to those who may know.....How much would the corrosion bleed if the car just sat (It hasn't run since November 10th)?
I have pictures if anyone is interested.
It's a 95 Z28...thanks injuneer

Might help to know the year of the car, so we know if its a vented or non-vented. The non-vented ones can build up ozone, which might accelerate corrosion.
