Thats my point exactly. My car was slower with 4.10's from a roll. Especially around the 90 range.

maybe the TA (ls1) spun for a bit when they both punched it?? i know i dont get traction till 3rd, in second im always sideways so theoretically if im racing someone who has a car with a bit less power than mine yet he hooks and i dont hook for a good second or two, and he beats me, its not impossible. i believe that guy beat the TA. why not? maybe the guy did miss a shift? maybe he didnt hook cause of his crappy tires? doesnt mean s**t really, the other guy won anyway. have fun

LS1>LT1, but if the LS1 had only the catback I could see it being relatively close, but some folks forget just how strong the LS1 is ESPECIALLY from a roll. Power all the way to 6000rpm with NO reservations about getting there. I do not think a healthy LS1 would get beat by 5 cars by an LT1 with those mods. 4.10's aren't necessarily good either until you get to 4th gear. It may feel faster but you spend more time shifting then with the 3.42s. Guy I used to know with a 96 SS had an exhaust, and 4.10s raced my friends Auto 93Z with CAI and we were even from 40-about 80ish when he would shift to 4th he'd finally pull.

Thats not to say the car in question isn't fast or didn't win but 5 car lengths there was something else going on. Other drive could have been shortshifting which makes a big difference on LS1 cars because of the way they make power...congrats on the kill but be careful who you go around saying "I whipped an LS1 by 5 car lengths" because it could very well bite you in the *** by a very lightly modded LS1 car.

that would be around 90(3.42's) so I'd say 82-83(4.10's.

Then WTF is this **** lick?

It doesn't really have anything to do with when the gears kick in...it's all based on the powerband of the motor as well as how good the driver is at shifting. Obviously if it's a minor race from say 25 (he said he was in first so he probably wasn't going much faster than that with 4.10s) to about 95 or so you'll have to shift gears one extra time. and probably wont start to pull until 4th gear. Also in the example I cited it was an LT1 vs LT1, there is no way that SS would have pulled an LS1 car. They're too damn strong from a roll.

Look here A$$eater. I was agreeing with the fact that a bolt on LT1 wont wax a good running STOCK LS1 by 5 car lengths. I wasnt necesarrily agreeing with the 4.10 thing just the car issues.

My car ran slower with the 4.10's than the 3.73's. Thats not the point though. I finally got someone here that knows what they are talking about.
