Also, I believe the Stock LT1 cam is like a 117 LSA. Not sure why you think 112 is the limit.
yes stock cam is around 117-118 LSA, I meant if you're doing a cam swap I'd recommend 112 or lower LSA

higher LSA allows smoother idle, lower LSA allows more top end more and shifts the power band, for cam-only LT1 that won't see boost I'd say 110-112 LSA is a good number

a 112 LSA is not drastic by any means imo

it has chop but it's not like the car sounds like it wants to die, btw what kind of v8 guy lets his girlfriend pick his cam

as for tunning, don't use a MSD box and retard the timing, also don't run a mailorder tune. it's not that much more for a dyno tune and you won't leave anything on the table

From what I have heard a dyno tune is $500 normally. A mail order tune is $125 if you get it from madz28 plus shipping, or 200~ from trifectaperformance, and you do not even have to drive there. Just something to think about, a dynotune is better obviously.

Are you planning on spraying it? Sounds like a nitrous cam.... 15* split on the exhaust, extra lift on the exhaust and the 114* LSA.

pretty much any cam is a nitrous cam though unless you're planning a pretty decent sized shot imo

I would guess Fred did not mean to suggest it was a good nitrous cam, just that it looked like someone applied some "conventional wisdom" in a misguided attempt to create a nitrous cam.
