Few Questions....

Replaced my valve cover gasket today, that was not the oil leak that I anticipated. Took the car for a ride, still leaks. Took a mirror and ran in on the back on teh engine, and the seal on the manifold in the very back seems to be the oil leak. My question is: The leak seems to be coming from one location that is approx and inch wide. My thinking is, correct me if I am wrong but I wanted to clean the surface and seal that up with some gasket maker. I am looking for a quick fix, will this hold? The leak is approx _____ long. My second question, can a check engine light be triggered from an exhaust leak? Thanks for any input.

Re: Few Questions....

the only way to fix the intake leak, is to pull the manifold. then clean the manifold, heads and block of any dirt and oil. Replace the 2 manifold gaskets and use rvt to seal beweet the block and manifold.
