Unhappy A few problems I need more help with

I have a few issues. First, my exhaust rattles like hell! I cant figure out why. Second, There is a connector (a rubber elbow) that transfers air to/from my manifold, not sure which, that keeps going bad. It gets so hot that it melts away and falls apart. Then I have hot air flowing straight up into the engine bay area. It has already started melting my air box and almost melted the cover on my fuel line cover. Why is my engine producing such heat that the stock parts cant even handle it? Lastly, if I let my car sit while running the temp gauge displays that the temp is at 260 (in the red). Someone please help me out here!!!

Sounds like a leaking gasket to me.

Check your number 1(?) primary (that's the cylinder exhaust port that's on the driver's side of the engine, closest to your headlights). Try to see if there's a break in the gasket seal between the exhaust manifold and the head. That would explain why things right around that area are starting to melt. This is a relatively easy thing to fix (just unbolt the manifold, slide out the gasket, pop in a new one and torque up the bolts).

Good luck!

I'll guess that one of your AIR diverter valves is stuck/broke/clogged/not working. Probably a new one will fix you up.

As a start for the fan problem, try seeing if your fans come on when you turn on the a/c.
