Feedback on TB Bypass

Hey guys.

I'm entertaining the TB bypass, and just wondering what you guys think of it. Is it worth my while. Have you seen any gains in day to day driving or on the track? I've seen some of the dyno charts, but would like to hear what you guys think from your own experiences. Thanks.

It provides minor gains but it's simple to do to keep your intake temperature down. The stock design is to prevent the TB from icing up in cold weather areas.

yup i do it every summer, car runs very good with it...its worth the 2$ you invest and possibly up to 5hp you gain...

so every little bit counts!

It's worth it. You won't feel a difference but it will be there. I say do it unless you live where it's cold enough to ice up, as OBE mentioned.

Re: Feedback on TB Bypass

I did it on my 94 and can't tell the difference... It may have helped a little, but nothing noticable... I live in Florida so it certainly won't hurt anything, and it's practically free... I've seen the dyno chart showing that it works, but I don't think I could "feel" an improvement of less than 3%...

one less thing to unhook if you have to take the throttle body out. also I dont see how it can hurt unless you live in extreme cold. Mines been bypassed over a year and I havent noticed any bad side effects.

Re: Feedback on TB Bypass

I live in Ontario Canada, so we have a moderate climate however the car is stored winters. I guess it can't hurt. Everyone says it cost a couple bucks. What is this for, the 3/8 hose barb? I have a 95' so I was under the assumption I didn't need the connector, as I can just plug into the existing steam pipe. Thanks guys.

Re: Feedback on TB Bypass

Go to the mod dyno tests at ws6.com..... shows its good for 6HP. Won't feel it, but its free.

I've run mine in 0degF weather without the coolant connected, and no problems. Might be an issue if you live north of the Arctic Circle
