I went 11.44@118mph with my 355 w/4.11's and a 26" tall tire on the motor but my car is set up for the bottle. If I would have changed the converter to a looser NA converter it would have went ~11.0-11.1@119-120ish. I have since changed my gears to 3.70's and my tires to 28.2" tall tires and go 11.9's@115 Na and 10.35@129 on the 150 shot. My car loves the bottle. I should go deep into the nines once I up the spray and finally get the car tuned.

Buddy (95Bird) went 11.03 @ 124.25 with a 1.541 60' NA. He should be able to pull an easy 10.9x or better when he gets his upgraded T56 back in the car. He's got a solid roller 355 with locally ported LT1 heads and a 9". Nice times for an NA 355.

when you take a 350ci engine and bore it .30 over
I think he meant .030 . For $3200 you could build a 355 and then some. Id just work with the block you already have. Do you need a forged bottom end??????? will you be running a power adder??? If not why spend the money???? Steven

well the LT1 will be going in my 99 s10 and i will be running a cc306 cam along with 3.73gears, a walbro 255LPH fuel pump. shortie headers(will convert to long tubes later on down the road) and a posi. Plans for down the road are an electric water pump, rockers, p&p heads, a new stall and maybe a built tranny. The thing is i dont know how well these motor react to a top end like that. Also with that setup what do you think is a good say? With this project im not really looking for a quarter mile champ. I want a fun aily driver while i am still paying for it. My goal is to hit 400 RWHP. is this possible with a stock bottom end or maybe a 355? I do NOT want to go stroker.

I believe the record for most power on a stock bottom end is 452 rwhp. I can't remember who it was though. SAR2K on this board also made 440 rwhp. There are many people on here over 400 rwhp on stock bottoms, it isn't that difficult.

sar2k ended up making 450rwhp and on initial runs went 11.3x at 118x. The other guy is one of Joe Overtons setups thats making some very good hp.

400 rwhp and 11s should be easy with the right setup. Its not only about heads/cam that makes these cars fast.
