fans not coming on

My fans are not coming on. I checked the relays all are good. I ran the fans manually so i know the fan motor is working so I think the only thing else is the temp sensor on the block. I was wandering if there should be 2 wires for that conector or 1 I only see 1. Wanted to make sure it wasnt a wire broken off. If anyone can help on this please.

What temp is the car running at? The low speed fan doesn't get commanded on until it reaches 226 degrees.

The sensor in the head (between #1 and #3 cylinders is for the gauge. It has one wire.

The sensor in the water pump is for the computer and it has 2 wires.

You can read all about the cooling system here.

it would go all the way to the red and they still dont come on. I have had a new temp sensor put in at the pump. didnt know if the sensor at the block was bad. should I go ahead and replace it too see if that will turn them on again. Also one more thing I had the valves adjusted and now there is a sound coming from the motor. it sounds like a squeeke belt but i know its not the belt but it sounds like the noise. did he adjust them to tight..

The sensor in the head only provides an input to the gauge on your dash cluster. Therefore, it does not play a role in the fans coming on or off. Maybe try resetting the PCM by pulling the PCM BAT fuse and letting it sit for 30 seconds or so before plugging it back in.

If the valves were adjusted improperly, that could lead to valvetrain noise. Shoebox has a very good tutorials that goes over the correct procedure: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#adjust_valves

i had the same problem about the fans... actually still do.

One of the realys was busted, so i changed it out and still doesnt work.
I decided to change the sensor on the Water pump, and still doesnt work.
Ive tested the fans as well, and cant figure out what the hell is wrong.
For the mean time, i've spliced into one of the fans and connected it to the foglight relay; so whenever i turn on myy foglights the fan turns on.

Im stumped on what it can be...
