Question Fans coming on as soon as engine starts?

Hey Guys,

My fans seem to be constantly running. I'll start the car, and the fans will kick on about a minute later.

I have an SES light that I have yet to get read, and the air pump fuse was blown and replaced not too long ago.

I am running a Hypertech 160 degree thermostat with HPP set to kick the fans off at the lower temp.

Any idea what might be going on? Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Thanks, in advance!

E

Is your air conditioner on? Having it on will keep your fans on most all the time. Beyond that, you may want to get that code read before you progress much further.

So, just by virtue of the SES light being on, the fans kick on right away?

Damn...Guess I better hurry up and get that read...

Thanks for the input!!!

I would almost bet money on the AIR pump fuse again.

well...I would check the fuse first and make sure that you aren't grounding out anywhere. Now, if your a/c is on, fan would kick in automatically, but I'm not any other time that they would cut on. Since you have your fans set to turn on at a lower temp, that's another possibility. If you can, program it back to stock and see if it still happens
