False Knock

My 1995 camaro will pull timing all the time. So i had to by pass the knock sensor with a resistor, Im using lt4 knock module and no matter what i do if i hook back up the knock sensor it pulls timing at idle in gear going down the road, it sometimes pulls 1 degree and others pull 5 degrees. I have replaced the knock sensor and tried my old lt1 module same problem, It will do this on stock tune or MadZ28 tune, and nothing is hitting the frame or anything, anyone else have this problem?

Re: False Knock

Any chance there's an ignition wire in close proximity to the knock sensor wire? And chance the motor mount, which is right next to the knock sensor, is loose? Have you tried some high octane fuel to see if it reduces the knock retard? What brand RR's do you have?

Re: False Knock

I ran a plug wire right next to the knock sensor wire for the headers.

Re: False Knock

You don't want a high voltage wire (like a spark plug wire) near the knock sensor wire. If you have an O2 extension nearby, its not going to matter.

How tight did you screw the knock sensor into the block?

When did the problem start? What was the last thing you did before the knock retard showed up?

Re: False Knock

I made sure i didnt get it to tight, The other problem is i dont know when the false knock started, It wasnt there after the 1.6rr but it was there when i put the madz28 tune in, and i did a lot of work to the car over that time period. like cam headers msd,
