I'm not sure, but I think Extrude Hone itself does all the honing, but based on my research and experience, it is a waste of money as the gains versus the money spent is very minimal.

I recall seeing tests, I cannot recall which magazine (possibly car craft?), but they extrude honed a stock exhaust manifold and compared it against a set of headers.

If my memory serves me correctly, they discovered that at lower RPMs, such as you would see on the street, the E.H. Manifolds did quite well, only losing a lot of ground as the revs climbed up to drag racing levels.

The conclusion they reached was that it was an effective way of getting a great deal of improvement in flow in a situation where you need or want to leave the stock manifolds in place.

I've never seen any data on extrude honing heads or intakes. I'd like to though, if anyone has links.

Here is a link where you can read up a little on it, and contact them for info.

What are you going to have done? In most top shelf LT1 applications, I don't know of any areas where Extrude Hone would be more effective than standard porting & polishing (ie.-heads, intake).
