Exploring the Dynaspark option.

Really want to explore my options before dumping a bunch of money on a replacement optispark.

I currently have a 'suspect' stock 110K opti, feeding a Delteq unit.

Is it worth buying a new GM opti just for the optical sensor function, or am I better served by spending a bit more to get a Dynaspark Gen III setup? If my Delteq fails, I cold go LTCC.

Or, could/should I get the Dynaspark Gen II setup, if the Delteq fails, I can revert back to running plug wires to the opti until I figure out the new solution?

Delphi from GM: $360
Dynaspark III: $525
Dynaspark II: $600

I've searched Dynaspark on here, but haven't been able to find much about them in terms of reliability. Haven't really seen anything negative about the product, so I guess that is good. Only thing I've seen is that they are hard to get a hold of sometimes?

Thanks.

Re: Exploring the Dynaspark option.

I cant comment on the dynaspark III, but i have been running a dynaspark II for the last 6 years and 75,000 miles without an issue. The cost up front is a little harsh, but if and when it does fail, dyno-tech rebuilds them for much less than new delco units or the still unproven MSD unit (in my opinion).

Picked up a Dynaspark II from them for $400, same warranty, just a 'used' case, all new internals. Can't beat that I don't think. Should ship today or tomorrow.
