They arent digital. I took a look at them, and I only got that car in 1 shot from a poor angle. I could of sworn I took more pictures than that. I wish I had a digital camera back then. Maybe my buddy that was with me has some better pictures of it. I'll ask him.

Re: experimental lt1

I was pretty sure looking at my Pontiac Performance Mag a month or so back there was a one off 93 TA, which had a roots style 3.8L motor making close to the 275hp. Reading through the article they started this was the way they were thinking of going with the 4th gen TA, but then went with the N/A V8 LT1 instead. Not sure if anyone else has seen the article?

Re: experimental lt1

sorry i have been away for a while, trying to get my motor running and it finally does. i asked the question in the first place because i have one that was never put in a corvette, or camaro, never had fuel run through the rails, no coolant, and still had factory oil in the pan. i looked up all the numbers and came up with lt1 but it was supposed to be used as a test engine. it has a-3 writen on the pan, block, heads and im not sure but maybe the intake. i was just wondering what might be "special" with it if at all because i finally have it installed and running in my S-10 truck. though the block has been cleaned and new bearings put in, it is now carbed. like i was saying, just wondering what might be "special"with it. thanks guys. matt

probably nothing "special", other then being a pre-production engine

Re: experimental lt1

If it was "pre-production", wouldn't that mean it was for the Vette and should be a 4-bolt main?

Re: experimental lt1

has anyone heard of the dale earnhardt special edition. my question is what year/years they made that and how much would one set me back. I heard they had somewhere around 500 hp and i think it was a supercharged ls1 but i heard this years ago so some of the info on it might be off. how much would one of those cost now? I swear i'd give up my left ******** for one

Re: experimental lt1

You are probably going to find the Dale cars on ebay or such. They are hard to come by.

Go to www.gmmginc.net and you can find more info there. You can contact GMMG to maybe help them find one for you.

Re: experimental lt1

yes it was meant to go into a vette and is a 4 bolt main. other than that, i dont know anything else to guess what it could be other than an lt1. it also has the plastic valve covers on it.

I believe I have this article in a magazine that I found while helping someone clean out their house.

Does anybody want me to scan it?

Re: experimental lt1

And now I can't find it. I did find a Hot Rod article where they built a 302, but they didn't use an L99 crank, so I know that's the wrong article.

What mag around what year am I looking for again?
