Is this exhaust setup idea possible?

hey fellows-I'm interested in using one of the chambered mufflers sold bySweet thunder (proally the 24"), and having it welded it into the I-pipe, after the cat, right before the axle...From there it would just "Y" into dual tips out back...Would this hurt performance significantly? any ideas on how it might sound? Thanks in advance guys...

You're talking about splitting it into a "Y" setup before going over the rear axle?? If so, I doubt that would work because that's a lot of room to be losing with dual pipes being routed through there.

But it would be possible to do it if you go ahead and y it after the axle. Im considering doing this and usin the LM as it is but shoot for the chambered sound. Let us know how it turns out.

good luck,

just buy a loud mouth or dynomouth and put a chambered muffler on. Do they come in 3in versions?

i have 3" x pipe and true duals with 18" sweet thunders, but they are too loud, so i recently ordered some 30" chambered mufflers from summit (they were cheaper).

they just got here this morning, and wow, they are different than the sweet thunder brand. the interior openings on the baffles (not the pipe itself) are much smaller on the summit ones, they are made by stainlessworks, which must sell them to summit. but they are still cheaper through summit.

link to the mufflers i bought

my 18" sweet thunders will be for sale, if anyoen wants them..........would make a great custom catback setup, but was too loud for true duals.
