exhaust manifold gasket - how difficult to replace
exhaust manifold gasket - how difficult to replace
I believe a have an exhaust leak at the manifold.
96 Camaro SS
A ticking sound designates the exhaust manifold from what people and myself know, right?
I just successfully changed my fuel pump(myself).
I had an exhaust leak before that, but i think moving the pipes around to get the muffler off seems to have amplified my problem.
Could possibly re-torqueing the bolts on the exhaust manifold work. Or would that be a waste of time.
Also, is there a bolt tightening sequence to follow for the exhaust manifold; i know there is for the heads, crank, and intake, but not sure about the manifold.

How loud is the ticking. Our injectors are really loud on these cars and it sounds just like an exhaust leak, unless you can feel the leak around the manifolds its probably not going to go away. Try retorquing the bolts anyway though, I doubt the gasket is bad.
