Exhaust help needed. 93 and 94 y-pipes different??

I need some help in choosing an exhaust system. I'm building a 383 for a 93 camaro. I plan on using a 94 intake and all associated emmisions parts so the headers will need to be compatible with the 94-95 setup. MY qestion is regarding the y-pipe and cats. On my car now it has stock manifolds that bolt to a y-pipe. The 2 pipes off of the manifolds come together at the cat and are welded to it and there is a ball fitting on the other end of the cat where it bolts to the cat-back system.

I am considering either the MAC or ASM mid length headers and y-pipe but I need to stay emissions legal. Both setups for the 94-95 LT1's say that they bolt to the stock Cat, but my cat is directly welded to the factory y-pipe. I'm wondering if the 94-95 exhaust is different than the 93 exhaust?

Does anyone have any advice on what system I will need to run in order to have 94-95 style emissions fittings but also retain a catalytic converter? I do not want to run shorty headers that re-use the stock y-pipe. I'd prefer the MAC system due to the price but I do not know if this will fit my application.

Thanks for the help,
Rob

the cat needs to be cut and welded to the new y-pipe all the cats are like that from the factory...welded to the pipe.
