A Off Road Y has no Catalytic Converter ... So its SUPPOSED to be for off road only. Catalytic converters are over rated. So is the ozone. So get one, get it stickered, enjoy.

A regular " Non-Off-Road Y" would have either a single, or twin catalytic converters on it.

When I redid my engine I said **** it since I have a Grand Cherokee to drive in the winter and also a 2001 R6. I would be driving my car on the track and at local car rally's.

I put the Pacesetter LT's on, pacesetter ORY, and had an exhaust shop put 3" exhaust straight out Quad Borla tips.

When I'm cruisin in 6th gear you can hardly hear the exhaust, but when I romp it in 1st - 5th, it sounds like a %$#@ NASCAR.

I love it and would never put a muffler back on my baby.

 

Only problem with the ORY and race headers are emissions. That's why they are intended for off road use, because you shouldnt be able to get them inspected. Now some o2 sims, tune out 2 other codes and go to someone who won't do a visual inspection and you are in the zone

 

Guys, it will probably be this weekend when I get the sound clips. I haven't had the car out in a while and I am currently in the process of doing some stuff to it. I will get some vids of idle, flyby and of course revving. I'll let you know when I get them.

 

well ive never had to do and emissiosn check or inspection so i guess im in the clear? i dunno.. but from what it sounds like i might just do off road....
