exchanging tranny fluid good or bad?

exchanging tranny fluid good or bad?

well my dad says i should if it wasnt bright red, so i looked and it was a dark red and what would this do for me?

is it good to get the fluid changed?

Man this is seriously the most controversial topic ive seen that deals with cars. I asked a few times, I get half yes, half no. I think the main thing is that if you replace it on a good basis(like every 30k miles) then you can continue to replace it, but if its been like 90k miles, then leave it be. If you start to feel your tranny slipping, DONT change it, or it will go out. The little shards of stuff are actually stopping leaks and holding the tranny together(or somethign like that). When was the last time it was changed?

i never change tranny fluid.. seems to cause more problems than it fixes, if the fluid isnt regularly changed..
just from my personal experience

85 e150, 308,xxx no flush runs fine
96 saturn SW2 250,xxx same
94 z28 130,xxx same

these are the automatics that i own

if its never been changed and you changed it,then your probably going to be out some money down the road.
get some Lucus transmission additive and put it in maybe that will help?
