I don't have a sound clip for you, but I can tell you that my cam has a nice lopey sound to it. It's not really aggressive, but enough for others to hear! It sounds really good!! I think you'll like it!

ur sig says u have the ex 224/230 w/ 112lsa i was looking for info for the same cam but w/ 114lsa i guess the 112lsa can't pass emissions or at least its not likely. i've heard the ex 224/230 w/ 112lsa and i think it sounds great.

I don't have any sound clips of mine (114LSA), but it is not too lopey. Just enough to let you know it is there. You can get more lope by reducing the idle speed, if that is what you want to do.

Re: ex 224/230

I have a custom 224/230 on a 114LSA. Don't have any sound clips. Really like it despite the little amount of time I've had it. With the cutout open you can really hear the lope (stock idle level). With the cutout closed you can barely hear the lope (kinda sleeper). BTW, you can get cams with 112LSA's to pass emissions.

Re: ex 224/230

The 224/230 on a 112 should pass emissions pretty easy. They were designed to have less over lap than similar cams. The 224/230 on a 112 has less overlap than a hot cam and hot cams pass all the time.

Re: ex 224/230

is this true that it'll pass w/ 112 lsa? i've been reading alot of the posts about it before and alot of ppl seem to think 112 is too much to pass. i know "Zmydust" has passed in flordia but i don't know how common that is. i would really prefer the 112lsa version but i need to pass emissions. i know in mass its the test where they test ur exaust gasses at idle and at 30 mph on a dyno or "tredmill" every two years.i have to get inspected this month and its a year where they test the exaust. so i'll do that befoer the cam and have two years to get my tunning right.

By the way alot of ppl talk about getting a "good tune" how do i do this? i know guys like madz28 do mail order tunes but what else is there and how do i really get a good tune?

I wouldn't consider my GTP4 'aggressive' by any means but you do notice that it's there.

226/236 114lsa

Buddies GM847 is much more intimidating

I could very well be wrong on this but i bet his cam has a ton more overlap than the 224/230 on a 112 LSA. One because of its duration and two because i bet GTP doesn't have the aggressive cam lobes that the XE cams do.

Re: ex 224/230

No problem with emissions with my setup. My whole plan was to build a mid 12 second car that was totally roller legal. So far so good - this year with the N20 I should dip into the 11's and remain echeck legal.
