What RPM are you setting it and if lower than your shift how are you keeping it from going off between shifts. The only thing I can think of is you have a lower switch on the clutch for the pedal on the floor position.

How about Multimeter?

If your msd box works its most likely getting a proper ground. There's not going to be a big amount of resistance unless you are wiring it with 5 miles of wire.

regarding the 2step, i dont put the clutch to the floor, just a quick stab. besides you can always turn the 2step off after you launch it.

With 1.5 60' and 5700 rpm shift light and holding at 6500 at the staging beams spraying off the line. I have enough going on for me that another switch is out of the question.

multimeters are most the times dvom's.

So have any of you hear that ticking sound that ArizonaZ and I are talking about coming from your MSD box? Like I said, the MSD tech support guy said its normal to hear that when the box is installed inside the car, but he didn't seem too knowledgeable.

i think the ticking is normal. Although I don't know how the hell you can hear it over the exhaust at WOT!
