OK, since you have an MSD ignition box, where did you run your power leads? I have the black grounded and the red going to the fuse block (little red box on the passenger side). I talked to MSD tech and they said the black should go to the negative battery terminal. What do you think?
I am sure that MSD box is not that powerful device with extra-low resistenace inside to hook it directly to battery. No any electrical noise from it too. It doesn't heat at all while working. That's why I connected black simply to a ground and red through a 20 amp fuse, which is also feeding mine inline pump. Works nice

thats fine. you can ground it any place on the car really it doesnt matter. they are all tied together, just as long as you have a good ground. Dont make more work for yourself, use the closest place.

little risky running it together with a fuel pump. the msd draws 1 amp for every 1k rpm. figure 7 amps is the max an lt1 can give it, that leaves you 13 for the FP. Id rather have it on a seperate fuse.

I'd probably pull out this pump at all, no need in it. Pump and MSD box have something in common though - if on of them fails - same result
I hooked my MSD 6A and coil up about 2 weeks ago, red to battery, black to body, with the harness that you can buy from MSD, but every time I'm at WOT, you can hear a very defined tick, tick, tick coming from the box. To my knowledge, that is not supposed to happen, and doesn't on any of my friend's cars, or the previous car I had. Any ideas?

As long as the ground is good then it fine easy to check with a dvom.
Has anyone ever used the 2 step for the 6al on a LT1?
And what did you use for a switch?

Being its for your ignition I would skimp on this at all.
