How difficult to replace valve springs?
I read shoebox's online guide. I am pretty mechanically inclined and my little brother (who is a tad more mechanically inclined than I) are going to be doing a cam/heads swap. We have done multiple header swaps on LT1s, spring/shock installs on LT1s, OPTI install, and other little upgrades.
Now I am not too worried about swapping out the cam, but what I am worried about is swapping out the valve springs and adjusting everything.
Is it just that there is a lot of info to digest by just reading it?
Is it easier once you have all the parts right there in front of you?
Thanks, and we have tons of guys around the D/FW area who would be willing to swing by and share a beer and teach us. So I am not too concerned. Just trying to get some reassurance.

I sounds like you are doing a cam & heads swap. In that
case you will have the heads off the car and on the bench
for the spring install. This is ideal for making it as easy as
possible since you can use just about any type of spring
compressor to do the job.
Other than recommending reviewing the information available
on the Comp Cams and Crane Cams web sites, if you have
the spring compressor, you should be in business. Check out
everything twice (installed height, open height, clearance to
coil bind, clearance to valve stem seal, etc.). A magnet to grab
the keepers is a must.
Also add a search of the LT1 Tech board for "valve spring
installed height" and read as much as possible.
