Everybody with a rollbar in their car, about carpeting...

I installed my rollbar about two years ago and when I installed it, I just cut into the carpet roughly the size where the bar bolts down to the floorboard. Has anyone seen a better way of getting this to blend in? Like a circle section of carpet with the hole already cut that will blend into the surrounding carpet?

I would like to know who makes a nice rollbar so I can get some ideas. What do I need for drag racing legaglly? I know once you get in the 13.xx you need one. What size tubing is legal? How many attach points does it need? I have a friend who is a "master" fabricator and he said he'll make me one just give him some ideas. We were even talking about making a few and selling them. I was thinking maybe on hoop that is low with a hoop behind each seat like the old Cobra style. Give me some suggestions.

If you want to be legal, first thing you should do is look at the rule book. It needs to be a 5pt, and those 5 points are specific about where the are and where the bars need to be with respect to your head, shoulders, etc. Removable side bars are legal, removable cross bar is not.

I was seriously considering the Wolfe convertible bar myself, or possibly have a custom bar installed.

Check this one out:

I have a Wolf 6-point. Here are a few pics by the driver's seat, so you might be able to see how the carpet is cut:

Don't mind the dirt, car was just back from the track and need of a good cleaning out. For the carpet, I just basically cut a slit, then cut a circle to clear the bar. I also made sure to remove the padding from underneat the carpet in that area, to keep it from poking through and showing. Works well enough for me.
