question for those who has a rev limiter in the redline

hi, i believe my rev limiter is set at 6000RPM, and that is already in the redline...i am afraid that it might hurt the engine.....but again i read many people set it over 6000 rpm...i would like to know if 6000 rpm rev limited will hurt my engine as it already pass the red line in the rpm meter....thanks

There's really no reason to rev the stock cam out past 5800....its not like you are really making any more power past that. When my car was internally stock, I set the MSD limiter to 6k (so I wouldn't hit it), and the factory limiter somewhere much higher.

Then again, I was known to launch WOT off that 6k rev limiter. I'd worry about valve float after about 6k anyway.
