Evap system & intake elbow issue

Can someone tell me if its absolutely necesaary to keep the evap system intact, also just installed a new intake elbow didnt have an opening for the vacuum line that goes to the distributor. Can I cap it at the distributor, or not?

Do NOT delete the ditributor (Optispark) vent system. You bought the intake elbow for a 93-94 unvented setup. If its the factory elbow, swap it for the correct 95-97 elbow with the hole for the Opti vent air supply line. If its aftermarket, just drill a hole in it. It make no sense to delete the best improvement they ever made to the Opti - the vent system.

You can delete the EVAP system. Since the canister will eventually saturate and no longer adsorb the gasoline vapor venting from the tank, it may start to smell near the driver's rear fender.

Cool thanks i thought the vent for the opti was a necessary thing and the reason i wanted to eliminate the evap sysytem is because the person that owned the car before me messed with the vacuum lines and i can't find the hose that leads to the charcoal canister and i figured it would be a hassle get a line back there. Thanks again. Im sure i'll have plenty more questions

The purge line for the canister is part of the 3-tube bundle (with the fuel supply and return lines) that comes up through the hole in the driver's side inner fender liner. Shouldn't be very hard to find. If someone cut the line out of the bundle, you can get a replacement bundle for about $20. Connects to metal tubing just under the driver's side rocker panel, near the front of the door.
