Re: evap solenoid

There is no EVAP solenoid mounted below the engine that I know of. You sure that is what is is? I also don't know what the heck car you are working on, 'cause you don't provide any info.

I think my new years resolution should be to ignore any post without car info. I feel that anyone serious about wanting help would post that info.

Post a pic, 'cause the EVAP solenoid is supposed to be on the RH side of the intake manifold.

Re: evap solenoid

Mounted "on the bottom" of what?

How did you determine if it was an EVAP solenoid?

What hoses are connected to it and where do they originate?

Possibly the EGR solenoid (which is on the driver side, but on top of the engine)?

The usual questions ( which a signature would help avoid - this is obviously starting to annoy people) are there any modifications to the engine? Which trans?

Re: evap solenoid

He has a sig, but apparently it doesn't work with the phone. That seems like a system issue. Why would the B/B system not post a sig regardless of how you logged in?

AIR pump bleed valve? ( I know wrong year but...)

Re: evap solenoid

I know that some phones don't result in appending the signature. In that case, as recommended in my sticky thread:

NOTE: Some phone apps do not append the signature to the bottom of each post. If you are using a phone, and the signature does not appear at the bottom of every post, you are going to have to type the required info in every new topic.
As far as why the BBS software doesn't append from some phone apps is something I can take up with Internet Brands. May take a while, since the Admin of this site seldom comes here, and I often have to go back to the original owners of the site to get action. I've asked for Admin privileges, and have some Admin rights, but apparently they don't want to make me the Admin. Frustrating.

Let me ask the OP what phone system and what app he is using.

[EDIT] PM sent.

Re: evap solenoid

How did it move from drivers side "on the bottom of the engine" to "that's where it's located" when Shoebox said it should be on the passenger side of the intake manifold?

Shoebox already has a picture of what it is supposed to look like:

Re: evap solenoid

You didn't copy the full link. I added it.

Are you sure you don't have a 96/97 engine transplant? That does look like the bleed valve shown in Shoebox's AIR pump recall - what Gary mentioned above. Although I don't see the AIR components that would be nearby. The recall was not applicable to the 1994. Only 95 and up, and only the 96/97's have the bleed valve.

Maybe I'm just disoriented from not knowing the angle that the picture was taken from.
